Baseball Recap: Thursday's Win Is North Posey's Ninth in Last 12 Outings

North Posey barely beat Boonville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Vikings were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over the Pioneers on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won ten matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Ethan Mansfield and Dylan Murphy made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Mansfield didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Murphy tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. What's more, Mansfield posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. At the plate, Mansfield went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and two doubles, while Murphy got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run.

In other batting news, Kade Buecher was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Jed Galvin, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

North Posey was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .457. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

North Posey has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Boonville, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Posey will venture away from home to square off against Evansville Reitz at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Boonville, they will head out to take on Southridge at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
