Soccer Game Preview: Malvern Prep vs. Springside Chestnut Hill Academy

The Malvern Prep Friars will take on the Springside Chestnut Hill Academy Blue Devils at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Malvern Prep's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Friday, Malvern Prep didn't have quite enough to beat William Penn Charter and fell 2-1. Malvern Prep haven't had much luck with William Penn Charter recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Meanwhile, Springside Chestnut Hill Academy fell victim to Episcopal Academy and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Churchmen. While losing is never fun, Springside Chestnut Hill Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 323rd, while Episcopal Academy are ranked 52nd).

Malvern Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5-2. As for Springside Chestnut Hill Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Malvern Prep was able to grind out a solid win over Springside Chestnut Hill Academy in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, winning 3-1. Will the Friars repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
