Baseball Recap: Sandusky Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Sandusky entered their tilt with Almont on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Raiders. For the Wolves, this counts as revenge for the 12-2 win the Raiders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2023.

Sandusky's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jack Betts, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run.

Sandusky hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive matchups.

Sandusky pushed their record up to 8-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Almont, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Coming up, Sandusky will be playing in front of their home fans against Mayville at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Wolves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Almont, they will take on Yale at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
