Preview: Ponderosa Mustangs vs. Lewis-Palmer Rangers
The Ponderosa Mustangs will be playing at home against the Lewis-Palmer Rangers on Tuesday. Hopefully Ponderosa focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Wednesday.
Ponderosa had to kick off their season on the road, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against Sand Creek as Ponderosa made off with a 48-22 win.
Among those leading the charge was Maddison Neale , who scored 23 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cate Schoultz, who scored 11 points along with 7 rebounds and 7 steals.
Meanwhile, Lewis-Palmer lost to Mead at home by a decisive 60-44 margin on Friday. Lewis-Palmer has not had much luck with Mead recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite their loss, Lewis-Palmer saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kendall Lane, who scored 10 points along with 7 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Rylee Edmondson was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Ponderosa's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Lewis-Palmer, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Ponderosa beat Lewis-Palmer 49-41 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Will Ponderosa repeat their success, or does Lewis-Palmer have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
