Basketball Recap: Peoples Baptist Academy Skates Past Appling Christian Academy with Ease

While Peoples Baptist Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They breezed by the Appling Christian Academy Eagles to the tune of 85-50 on Friday. The Knights' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Appling Christian Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Blake Tomlinson and Jaden Drake. Tomlinson went 7 of 8 en route to 18 points, while Drake almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. Drake's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

The win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for Appling Christian Academy, they moved to 6-3 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Peoples Baptist Academy and Byne Christian will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Appling Christian Academy will take on Lighthouse Christian in a holiday battle at at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
