Football Recap: JW North Takes a Loss

JW North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Poly Bears 55-13. Despite 66 more yards than the Bears, the Huskies couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Several Huskies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was DeNavyah Garcia, who picked up 87 receiving yards and one touchdown.

A big part of Poly's win came down to the chemistry between Marjok Gustafson and his top target Matt Henry. Gustafson threw for 203 yards and four TDs on only 16 passes while Henry picked up 87 receiving yards and one score.

JW North's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Poly, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. JW North will host King at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Poly, they will look to defend their home field on the 6th against Redlands East Valley at 7:00 p.m.
