Despite the defeat, Hamilton Southeastern had strong showings from Kendrick Pennybaker, who picked up 265 receiving yards and a pair of scores, and Deaken Johnson, who threw for 312 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per attempt. The Royals are 2-1 when Pennybaker posts 80 or more receiving yards, but 1-2 otherwise.
Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 11 points in total. All came from Luke Marchionni: he went 3-for-3 kicking field goals for nine points, and 2-for-2 kicking extra points for an additional two.
Meanwhile, Noblesville played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 37-10 loss at the hands of Franklin Central. The Millers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 23-3.
Hamilton Southeastern will have to contain Noah Shinkle as he made an impact in Noblesville's last game. He rushed for 124 yards and one TD. Shinkle was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards.
Hamilton Southeastern's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Noblesville, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
Hamilton Southeastern beat Noblesville 28-21 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Millers' Brody Gump, who rushed for 181 yards and one score on only 12 carries.
