Football Game Preview: Xaverian Clippers vs. Mt. St. Michael Academy Mountaineers

For the first time this season, Xaverian will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out on the road to square off against the Mt. St. Michael Academy Mountaineers at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday. Mt. St. Michael Academy took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Xaverian, who comes in off a win.

Xaverian took a loss when they played away from home back in September, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed two weeks ago. They put the hurt on Holy Trinity with a sharp 22-0 victory. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Clippers just coasted through the last quarter.

Meanwhile, Mt. St. Michael Academy came up short against Holy Trinity on Saturday and fell 26-19. The Mountaineers have struggled against the Titans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Xaverian will need to focus on slowing down Drew Diaz, one of several Mt. St. Michael Academy players who made an impact when they last played. He threw for 164 yards and three touchdowns.

Mt. St. Michael Academy now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Xaverian, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Everything came up roses for Xaverian against Mt. St. Michael Academy in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 55-13 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Clippers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
