The Yale Bulldogs are taking a road trip to take on the Frankenmuth Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Yale proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by six) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Almont 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since April 16, 2024.

Meanwhile, Frankenmuth is still undefeated this season after their game against Garber on Tuesday, but Garber came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Eagles beat the Dukes by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 8-7.

Chloe Compau made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one run.

In other batting news, Bri Barker was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run. Mady Goodwin also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Frankenmuth kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Garber only managed six hits.

Frankenmuth's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Yale, their record is now 2-0.
