            Baseball Recap: Vestal Golden Bears vs. Elmira Express        
        
		
        
        
            Vestal fought the good fight in their extra-innings  matchup against Elmira  on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Express by a score of  4-3. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 18, 2016, but that streak is no more.
 Parker Terrell was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he  pitched five innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   four  hits.
 At the plate, Vestal saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Josh Kweller, who  went 2-for-4 with two  RBI. Those  RBI marked the first that  Kweller  brought in this season.
Vestal's defeat  ended  an  11-game streak of wins at home  dating back to last season and  dropped them to 2-2. As for Elmira, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vestal will face off against Corning-Painted Post West at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Elmira, they will venture away from home to  face off against Brentsville District  at 9:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
