Baseball Game Preview: Grandview Heights Bobcats vs. Franklin Heights Falcons

The Grandview Heights Bobcats are taking a road trip to square off against the Franklin Heights Falcons at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Grandview Heights is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

Grandview Heights came up short against Buckeye Valley on Monday, falling 13-3.

Meanwhile, Franklin Heights lost 13-4 to Bexley on Monday. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Franklin Heights saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colin Rush, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-4.

Grandview Heights' loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Franklin Heights, they now have a losing record of 3-4-1.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Grandview Heights has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Franklin Heights struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Grandview Heights came out on top in a nail-biter against Franklin Heights when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 7-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bobcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
