Preview: Southside Christian Warriors vs. Community Christian Cyclones
The Southside Christian Warriors will play host again and welcome the Community Christian Cyclones, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Southside Christian struggled with three-point shooting accuracy on Monday (Jacksonville Christian Academy was 26% better) and sadly the final score reflected it. The game between Southside Christian and Jacksonville Christian Academy wasn't particularly close, with Southside Christian falling 45-31.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Annie Winterstein, who scored ten points along with eight steals. Another player making a difference was Anna Coley, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Community Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 51-30 walloping at the hands of New Bern Christian Academy. Community Christian has struggled against New Bern Christian Academy recently, as their matchup on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Southside Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Community Christian, their loss was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.
Southside Christian took their victory against Community Christian in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 by a conclusive 50-26. With Southside Christian ahead 34-13 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
