Basketball Recap: Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy lost against Lee Park Prep back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy Patriots took a 54-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lee Park Prep Knights. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Patriots came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while the Knights are ranked 229th).

Leading Lee Park Prep to victory were Peyton Griffin and Isaac Watkins. Griffin went 7 of 9 en route to 16 points, while Watkins posted eight points along with six assists and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lincoln Winkles, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Lee Park Prep, the victory made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 5-2.

Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 54-51 defeat against Gospel Light Christian on the 10th. As for Lee Park Prep, they will venture away from home to challenge Gray Stone Day at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
