Basketball Recap: Episcopal Takes a Loss

Episcopal was the 76-63 winner over Southern Lab when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Episcopal Knights fell 69-59 to the Southern Lab Kittens on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 187th, while the Kittens are ranked 28th).

Episcopal's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 15-20. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.7 points per game. As for Southern Lab, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 22-4.

Episcopal will welcome Slaughter Community Charter at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Episcopal's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games. As for Southern Lab, they will challenge Vandebilt Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
