Cobre entered their tilt with Socorro on Thursday with five consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with six. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Socorro Warriors 60-30. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-6.

Cobre got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Hayley Gutierrez out in front who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 15 rebounds. Cobre is 10-5 when Gutierrez posts ten or more boards, but 4-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Makayla Duarte, who posted nine points in addition to seven rebounds and seven steals.

Cobre smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 29 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in 15 consecutive games.

Despite the loss, Socorro still got an impressive performance from Ariana Crespin, who scored 15 points along with six steals and three blocks. Crespin is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

Cobre's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-11. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Socorro, Hatch Valley, and Hot Springs. As for Socorro, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-21.

Cobre has already played their next contest, a 57-13 win against Hatch Valley on the 25th. As for Socorro, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 44-32 loss against Hot Springs on the 25th.
