Baseball Recap: Burlingame Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Los Gatos, Burlingame was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Carlmont Scots by a score of 7-3. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Scots: they've now won four in a row.

Mark O'Grady was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Burlingame is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 6-10 otherwise. O'Grady was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Liam Philibosian, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Grayson Howard was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Burlingame's record now sits at 9-11. As for Carlmont, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-12.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Scots beat Burlingame by a score of 8-4 on Friday.
