Football Game Preview: Central Bears vs. Lecanto Panthers

The Central Bears will head out on the road to square off against the Lecanto Panthers at 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Central's offense hasn't had much luck over their past six matches, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Central came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Weeki Wachee, falling 25-0. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 30, 2022, but that streak is no more.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lecanto, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against The Villages Charter by a score of 13-6 on Monday. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Buffalo recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Lecanto's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Central, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Central was dealt a bruising 43-0 defeat at the hands of Lecanto in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Lecanto's Peyton Dison, who threw for 157 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 40 yards and one touchdown. Now that Central knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
