Football Game Preview: PURE Academy Royals vs. Lafayette Commodores

The PURE Academy Royals will head out on the road to face off against the Lafayette Commodores at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. PURE Academy is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

On Friday, PURE Academy lost to Christian Brothers on the road by a 21-7 margin. While the Royals had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Purple Wave 7-0.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Lafayette beat Hernando 17-12 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Commodores.

PURE Academy better focus on containing Luke Anderson and Kamaron Pritchard as the pair were huge in Lafayette's win. Anderson rushed for 61 yards and one TD on only seven carries, while Pritchard rushed for 59 yards and one touchdown. Pritchard also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making four total tackles.

Lafayette was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 315 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

PURE Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Lafayette, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
