Madisonville-North Hopkins barely beat Butler County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Maroons put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp  11-1 victory on Thursday. The Maroons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by six  runs or more this season.
 Sadie Kirk made a big impact no matter where she played. She  struck out 11 batters over  five innings while giving up just one earned run off   two  hits. Kirk was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with one  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs.
 In other batting news,  Sydney Skeen and  Mackenzie Stoltz did most of the damage at the plate:  Skeen  went 1-for-3 with one  home run, while  Stoltz  went 1-for-4 with one  home run and two  runs. That  home run marked the first that  Skeen  launched this season. Another player making a difference was  Reese Renth, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Madisonville-North Hopkins  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 11  hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  got at least ten  hits in three consecutive  games.
Madisonville-North Hopkins is  on a roll lately: they've  won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Butler County, their loss  ended  a  three-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 3-8.
 Coming up, Madisonville-North Hopkins will host Calloway County  at 1:00  p.m.  on Saturday. The Maroons are facing the Lakers at the right time seeing as the Lakers are stuck on  a  14-game losing streak. As for Butler County, they will head out to  square off against Apollo  at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Bears will also cruise into their next  contest with the timing on their side: the Eagles will have lost three straight heading into Friday's  game.
