Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lowndes). They took their game on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 46-6 win over the Irwin County Indians. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Vikings considering their 12-point performance the matchup before.

Jamecia Burgman had another great game (as she tends to do), rushing for 137 yards and four scores on only ten carries. Another player making a difference was Anieya Smith, who rushed for 79 yards and one touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Lowndes was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 305 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Lowndes didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut McKenzie Goff.

Lowndes' victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Irwin County, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Lowndes didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 24-6 win against Thomasville on the 21st. As for Irwin County, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Colquitt County at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
