Gateway Charter's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Lely Trojans 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Griffins have posted since March 6th.

Jakob Rivera was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Yosmay Veliz, who scored a run.

Gateway Charter's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-15. As for Lely, they dropped their record down to 3-17 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home.

Gateway Charter didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 22-2 loss against Aubrey Rogers on the 7th. As for Lely, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, an 18-7 defeat against Bonita Springs on the 7th.
