Baseball Recap: Pottsgrove Falcons vs. Upper Perkiomen Indians
Pottsgrove had lost four straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 2-9 to make it five. They came up short against the Upper Perkiomen Indians, falling 8-2. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Falcons couldn't push the score so high this time.
Pottsgrove saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Tyson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
As for Upper Perkiomen, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-3. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games.
On Upper Perkiomen's side, Andrew Nagata looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. What's more, Nagata posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.
At the plate, Jack Rieg was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Weiss, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
