Volleyball Preview: Flint Hill Huskies vs. Bullis Bulldogs

The Flint Hill Huskies will head out on the road to challenge the Bullis Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Flint Hill is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Virginia's top teams: Bishop O'Connell, who was ranked second at the time (Flint Hill was ranked fifth). The Huskies fell just short of the Knights by a score of 3-2 on Saturday.

Flint Hill wouldn't go down easily and took Bishop O'Connell into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-22, 20-25, 22-25, 15-10.

While Bullis has struggled at home with four straight losses , that wasn't the case on Thursday thanks to Jackie Leach. The Bulldogs won by a set and slipped past Non Varsity Opponent 3-2 for which the team can thank Leach, who had 23 digs. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last three games she's played.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Bullis who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 16-25, 25-19, 20-25, 15-10.

Flint Hill now has a losing record of 10-11-1. As for Bullis, their victory bumped their record up to 2-12-1.

Flint Hill might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Bullis in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Huskies, Nia Thomas (who had 15 digs and six aces) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
