Basketball Game Preview: Liberty Indians vs. Fallsburg Comets

Liberty and Fallsburg are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. The Liberty Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Fallsburg Comets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Thursday, Liberty ended up a good deal behind Port Jervis and lost 55-41. The loss continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now lost seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Fallsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were beaten by Beacon 76-34. While losing is never fun, the Comets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 816th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 144th).

Fallsburg's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Liberty, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.

Liberty strolled past Fallsburg in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 48-32. Does Liberty have another victory up their sleeve, or will Fallsburg turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
