Whitehouse came tearing into Saturday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Mt. Pleasant Tigers. The Wildcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

Whitehouse's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Mt. Pleasant, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 11-5.

Whitehouse and Mt. Pleasant should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Whitehouse will take on Marshall at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday up 718 places (80 vs. 798). Meanwhile, Mt. Pleasant (ranked 182nd) will meet Nacogdoches (ranked 722nd) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
