It was a good run, but West Catholic unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Thursday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Catholic Central Cougars. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.
West Catholic started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-11, 25-22, 25-19.
Cara Wolf was the offensive standout of the contest as she had ten digs and three aces. Audrey Sokorai also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.
West Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 16-15-4. As for Catholic Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 36-13-1 record this season.
