Basketball Recap: Elgin Comes Up Short

Elgin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 33-13 to the Hinckley-Big Rock Royals. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Maroons of the 46-20 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2021.

Elgin's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Hinckley-Big Rock, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Elgin is taking a road trip to face off against Maine West at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hinckley-Big Rock, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 43-38 loss against West Chicago on the 20th.
