Preview: Freeport Pretzels vs. Boylan Catholic Titans
Freeport is 1-7 against Boylan Catholic since September of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Freeport Pretzels will head out on the road to face off against the Boylan Catholic Titans at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Freeport focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Friday.
Last Friday, Freeport came up short against Rockford East and fell 30-20.
Even though the team lost, they still came through with several impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Payton Woker, who threw for 164 yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Boylan Catholic got themselves on the board against Guilford on Friday, but Guilford never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Vikings 43-0 on the road. The result was nothing new for Boylan Catholic, who have now won six matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.
Boylan Catholic's win bumped their season record to 7-1 while Freeport's loss dropped theirs to 2-6.
Freeport might still be hurting after the 42-20 defeat they got from Boylan Catholic in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Can Freeport avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
