Pershing County fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against West Wendover on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the West Wendover Wolverines by a score of 9-8. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Wolverines this season, with their most recent defeat being a 15-5 loss on Friday.

Trenton Rhodes was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Rhodes was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.
