Recap: Philip Simmons Iron Horses vs. Goose Creek Gators
The Philip Simmons Iron Horses waltzed into Wednesday's contest with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 54-45 win over Goose Creek. For Philip Simmons, this counts as revenge for the 64-42 defeat Goose Creek walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
Robert Watson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 27 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Micah Mack was another key contributor, scoring 5 points along with 16 rebounds.
Philip Simmons' win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Goose Creek, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Philip Simmons will take on Stratford at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Stratford will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 149th, while Philip Simmons is ranked 14th). As for Goose Creek, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Stall at 7:30 p.m. on December 8th. Hopefully Stall focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 32 on Wednesday.
