Basketball Recap: Fredonia Takes a Loss

Fredonia played a tough matchup on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. 2025 welcomed they with a 71-47 loss courtesy of the Olean Huskies. The Hillbillies just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Fredonia lost, don't look at Colin Luce. Despite the final result, he went 11 of 15 en route to 24 points and eight rebounds. Luce has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Ashton Putney, who posted eight points and five rebounds.

Fredonia's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Olean, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-6.

Fredonia will host Dunkirk at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Olean, they will square off against Southwestern at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
