The Winamac Warriors will take on the Caston Comets at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Winamac let North Judson-San Pierre stack seven runs on them in the fifth inning on Tuesday but luckily Winamac prevailed anyway. The Warriors had just enough and edged out the Bluejays 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Warriors have posted since April 29, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Cash Roth, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Will Malchow, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two RBI.
Meanwhile, Caston narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Lewis Cass 5-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Comets.
Eli Holloway made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Noah Herd was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two runs.
Winamac's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Caston, their win bumped their record up to 12-4.
Saturday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Winamac has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .444. However, it's not like Caston struggles in that department as they've averaged .481. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Winamac suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Caston in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Warriors have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
