Baseball Recap: Darlington Takes a Loss

Darlington blew Wilson out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Wilson got their revenge. The Falcons fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Falcons have suffered since April 30, 2025.

Darlington saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryder Morgan, who went 2-for-4 with two runs. Morgan is becoming a predictor of the Falcons' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 4-8 when he doesn't). Another was Keontae Scipio, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Darlington and nudges their season record down to 6-9. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Wilson, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-11 record this season.

Darlington will square off against Lake City at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Wilson will be paying especially close attention to the Falcons' matchup: after the Falcons face off against the Panthers, they'll take on Wilson again at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
