Basketball Recap: Ravenna Bluejays vs. Arcadia/Loup City Rebels
Ravenna was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost to the Arcadia/Loup City Rebels at home by a 43-27 margin. The Bluejays were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rebels apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Several Bluejays players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Emmarie Lutz, who posted five points along with five rebounds and four steals. Those four steals gave Lutz a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Reannon Siegel, who had three points and ten boards.
Eva Jaixen was nothing short of spectacular for Arcadia/Loup City: she dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Jaixen has scored at least a third of Arcadia/Loup City's points. Tayler Obermiller also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.
Ravenna's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Arcadia/Loup City, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-5.
Ravenna will face off against Elm Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Elm Creek will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Ravenna surely won't give up without a fight. As for Arcadia/Loup City, they and Ord will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Arcadia/Loup City has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
