Volleyball Recap: Portage Comes Up Short

Portage lost against West Shamokin back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Mustangs came up short against the Wolves, falling 3-0.

While Portage ultimately came up short, they really made West Shamokin work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 25-14, 25-15.

Portage has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for West Shamokin, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Portage will take on rival Conemaugh Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, West Shamokin is set to square off against their familiar foe River Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
