Baseball Game Preview: Dwight Morrow Maroon Raiders vs. North Arlington Vikings

The Dwight Morrow Maroon Raiders will take on the North Arlington Vikings at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

Saturday just wasn't the day for Dwight Morrow's offense. They came up short against Paramus Catholic on Saturday, falling 10-0. The loss continues a trend for the Maroon Raiders in their meetings with the Paladins: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, North Arlington had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Gaels. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Vikings have posted since April 29th.

Rohan Patel was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. He has become a key player for North Arlington: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-14 otherwise. Luis Ramos was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

North Arlington pushed their record up to 11-14 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Dwight Morrow, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-14.

Dwight Morrow was able to grind out a solid victory over North Arlington when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 6-3. Will the Maroon Raiders repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
