Soccer Game Preview: Staunton vs. Rocktown

The Staunton Storm are taking a road trip to challenge the Rocktown Raptors at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Staunton sitting on ten straight victories and Rocktown on five.

On Thursday, Staunton was able to grind out a solid win over Stuarts Draft, taking the game 4-2. Given Staunton's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 44th, while Stuarts Draft are ranked 198th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Staunton hit Stuarts Draft with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Marc Geffrard (2), Andrew Efird, and Joshua Bryant.

Meanwhile, Rocktown kept a clean sheet against Broadway on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Gobblers. Considering Rocktown have won five games by more than four goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Staunton's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-0. As for Rocktown, their win bumped their record up to 8-1-1.
