Basketball Recap: Woodward Takes a Loss

Woodward was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Southview Cougars and fell 71-18. Having soared to a lofty 68 points in the game before, the Polar Bears couldn't push the score so high this time.

Woodward's defeat dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Southview, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Woodward will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Monclova Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on February 11th. As for Southview, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Southview Cougars duke it out with the Bowling Green Bobcats at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
