Basketball Recap: Midland Park Find Success

Midland Park proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 32) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Parsippany Redhawks 53-50. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 58-57 win the Redhawks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Parsippany lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Alex Schmieder, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Niedermaier, who went 6 of 15 on his way to 19 points and six rebounds.

Midland Park's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Parsippany, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

When Midland Park and Parsippany next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Midland Park will try to stop Emerson's three-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Parsippany will try to stop West Morris Mendham's five-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
