Volleyball Recap: Lanier's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

After losing to White County the last time they met, Lanier decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Longhorns walked away with a 2-0 win over the Warriors on Thursday.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Lanier took both sets by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-13.

Their offense was headlined by Addy Gosselin and Brooklyn Surles, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Emily Walton and her eight assists. Finally, Surles was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

Lanier's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-6. As for White County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Lanier didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Chattahoochee on the 19th. As for White County, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Oconee County on the 16th.
