Shepaug Valley put another one in the bag  on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Harding Presidents, posting  an  84-53 victory. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12  contests by 27  points or more this season.
Shepaug Valley's win  was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   James Kersten, who  went 6 of 10 from beyond the arc on his way to 30  points in addition to seven  boards and six  assists. Kersten's afternoon made it four games in a row in which  he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Reed Woerner, who  went 10 for 19  en route to 24 points along with seven  assists and seven  rebounds.
 Kersten wasn't the only one working in the  assists department: Shepaug Valley was working as a unit and  finished the game with 28  assists. That's the most  assists they've managed all season.
 Harding lost  despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being   Andre Taylor, who  almost  dropped  a double-double on 15  points and nine  boards. The dominant performance also gave  Taylor a new career-high in  steals (four). Another player making a difference was  Denim Bernal, who  posted 12 points in addition to five  rebounds and four  steals.
Shepaug Valley pushed their record up to 16-0 with the  win, which was their ninth straight  on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 84.8 points per game. As for Harding,  they are  on  a  five-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 5-9.
 Shepaug Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next  match,  a  70-59  victory against Bullard-Havens on the 3rd. As for Harding, they will square off against Amistad at 3:00  p.m.  on February 8th. Amistad is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.2  points per game  this season.
