Baseball Recap: Cathedral Takes a Loss

Cathedral had lost four straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 10-7 to make it five. They lost 12-2 to the Parklane Academy Pioneers. The Green Wave were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Pioneers earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

As for Parklane Academy, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-11. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

For Parklane Academy's part, Collin Smith spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, Parklane Academy let Nick Young and Braxton Hughes run wild. Young went 2-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI, while Hughes went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Young is becoming a predictor of Parklane Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 6-11 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Kaydon Jackson, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

As of now, neither Cathedral nor Parklane Academy have any future games scheduled.
