Soccer Game Preview: Paloma Valley vs. Hemet

The Paloma Valley Wildcats will venture away from home to square off against the Hemet Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

It was a proper cat-fight when Paloma Valley faced off against Arlington on Thursday. Paloma Valley lost 6-0 to Arlington. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 519th, while the Lions are ranked 43rd).

Meanwhile, Hemet was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Poly.

Paloma Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8-2 record this season. As for Hemet, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13.

Paloma Valley beat Hemet by a goal in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Paloma Valley since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
