Recap: Eaglecrest Raptors vs. Mullen Mustangs
After a string of five wins, the Eaglecrest Raptors's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell 60-47 to Mullen. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Eaglecrest came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Mullen is ranked 47th).
Eaglecrest's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Garrett Barger, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cam Chapa, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Eaglecrest's loss dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Mullen, their win bumped their record up to 11-9.
Eaglecrest didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-50 win vs. Cherokee Trail on the 9th. Mullen has also already played their next game, a 71-45 defeat against Smoky Hill on the 9th.
