Basketball Recap: Kendra Kern Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Hamilton

Bethany Christian won the last time they faced Hamilton and things went their way on Saturday too. The Bethany Christian Bruins strolled past the Hamilton Marines with points to spare, taking the game 43-28. The Bruins didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.

Bethany Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kendra Kern led the charge by going 5 of 12 en route to 12 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. Kern continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Karlee Crume was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Bethany Christian's record now sits at 3-15. As for Hamilton, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-13.

Bethany Christian and Hamilton could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. Bethany Christian will face off against Fairfield at 7:30 p.m. on Monday down 290 places (375 vs. 85). Meanwhile, Hamilton (ranked 404th) will meet Eastside (ranked 29th) at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
