Encinal will face Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory after dropping another heartbreaker against Bishop O'Dowd on Tuesday, which marked the second time in a row the team's come within 2.1 of beating them. Encinal fell 9-4 to Bishop O'Dowd.
Encinal saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cameron Tran, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another was Jaydah Tautalatasi - Robinson, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top against Lowell by a score of 10-5 on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Fightin' Irish in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won three in a row.
Kaylen Edora made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, she posted two strikeouts, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory let Wanda Wilson and Sydney Endo run wild. Wilson went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run, while Endo scored two runs while going 2-for-4. What's more, Endo posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Francesca Moralejo also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive matchups.
