Recap: Dixie Hornets vs. Thornwell Saints
The Dixie Hornets can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 36-5 win over Thornwell at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Dixie has managed all season.
Dixie was led to victory by Kerri O'Shields and Jaylia Turner. O'Shields scored nine points along with five steals, while Turner scored 11 points along with seven steals. O'Shields is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Georgia Wojtkowski, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
The victory was the third in a row for Dixie, bringing their record for this year to 5-8. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 27 points. As for Thornwell, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Dixie will head out on the road to square off against McCormick at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. McCormick is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. Thornwell won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Whitmire at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th.
