Softball Recap: Tellico Plains Bears vs. Eagleton College & Career Academy Royals

Tellico Plains had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Eagleton College & Career Academy Royals by a score of 7-5. The Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Royals apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Skyler Day put in work no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over 4.1 innings pitched. Day was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

In other batting news, Taylor Rose made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits.

Even though they lost, Tellico Plains kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eagleton College & Career Academy only managed six hits.
