Soccer Game Preview: Dobson vs. Higley

The Dobson Mustangs and the Higley Knights will round out the year against one another at at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Dobson's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They had just enough and edged Gilbert out 1-0. Alicia Zambrano had the honor of scoring the game-winner for the Mustangs.

Meanwhile, Higley's game on Thursday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They came up short against Arizona College Prep, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, Higley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 71st, while Arizona College Prep is ranked seventh).

Higley has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 1-5-1 record this season. As for Dobson, they now have a winning record of 4-3-2.

Dobson suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Higley when the teams last played back in January of 2016. Can Dobson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
