Baseball Game Preview: Mission Vista vs. Fallbrook Warriors

Mission Vista will head out on the road to face off against the Fallbrook Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Mission Vista and Oceanside meet (two straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Saturday. Mission Vista fell just short of Oceanside by a score of 2-1.

Mission Vista got a good showing from Mack Spinks, who pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Spinks gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in March.

On the hitting side, Mission Vista saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kain Burnside, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, Fallbrook made sure to put some runs up on the board against Rancho Buena Vista on Saturday. The Warriors walked away with a 10-6 win over the Longhorns. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Warriors' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Mission Vista has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season. As for Fallbrook, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-11.
